Thomas (Tommy) Mitchel
Founding Research Scientist, Reactor Inc.
I'm a founding research scientist at Reactor Inc. Previously, I was a senior research scientist at Adobe, a senior research scientist at PlayStation, and a postdoctoral fellow at Google Research hosted by Ameesh Makadia. I received my PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 2022 advised by Misha Kazhdan.

My work focuses on developing AI with innate spatial reasoning capabilities in the context of perception, robotics, and generative modeling. Specifically, I work towards models that learn these skills from images, video, and by interaction with physical and digital environments — ideally through full self-supervision.
